Elena Gilbert is going on a date with Tyler Lockwood.
Under things Elena thought she'd never do, going on a date with Tyler is definitely on that list. It isn't that she didn't like Tyler, or that she wouldn't be willing to go on a date with him. She just never looked at him that way. He's been her friend since they were in kindergarten, and they've been through so much together, but their eyes were always elsewhere.
She's not really sure that's changed, but he just spent twelve hundred dollars on a date with her. It was mostly to prevent Klaus from winning. There is probably no need to actually follow through on the date end of things for that reason, but if was going to spend that kind of money, then the least she could do is make sure they both had fun.
She makes her way into the Grill, looking around for any sign of Tyler, before going to her phone. She's early, she knows that, but it can't hurt to check in anyway. She sends off a quick message to let him know she's here, before heading over to the bar.
